Jesus taught us to call God our Father, who loves us. We can come to Him like a child to a loving dad.
hallowed be your name. Matthew 6:9
To hallow God's name means to honor how holy and great He is. We begin prayer by praising God.
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
We ask for God's good ways to happen on earth like in heaven. We want what God wants.
Give us today our daily bread. Matthew 6:11
We ask God for what we need each day and trust Him to provide. God cares about our everyday needs.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matthew 6:12
We ask God to forgive our wrongs, and we forgive others too. Forgiveness sets our hearts free.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Matthew 6:13
We ask God to help us stay away from wrong and to protect us. God is our helper and rescuer.
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Matthew 6:13
We end by praising God, because everything belongs to Him forever. Amen means yes, let it be so.
