Noah's Ark
Genesis 6:22

Noah trusted God even when it seemed impossible. God asked him to build a huge boat when there wasn't even rain! Noah obeyed because he believed God's promises. When we trust God and follow His word, He always keeps us safe, just like He kept Noah and his family safe in the ark.

Explorer's Challenge:
Has God ever asked you to do something that seemed strange or hard? Think of a time you trusted someone even when you didn't fully understand. How can you practice trusting God the same way Noah did?
The Good Samaritan
Luke 10:30-37

Jesus taught us to love everyone, even people who are different from us. The Good Samaritan helped someone when others walked by. We can be like the Good Samaritan by being kind to everyone we meet, helping those who need it, and showing God's love through our actions.

Explorer's Challenge:
Look for one person today who might need help, at school, at home, or in your neighborhood. A kind word or just saying hi to someone who looks lonely can make a huge difference.
Daniel and the Lions
Daniel 6:22

Daniel prayed to God every day, even when it was against the law. His faith was so strong that God protected him from hungry lions! When we face scary situations, we can pray to God and trust that He will protect us. Nothing is too hard for God!

Explorer's Challenge:
Is there something that's making it hard for you to pray or follow God? What's one small step you can take today to make prayer a daily habit, no matter what?
Jesus Feeds 5,000
John 6:9-13

A young boy shared his small lunch of five loaves and two fish with Jesus. Jesus took that small gift and fed thousands of people! When we give what we have to God, even if it seems small, He can do amazing things with it. God can use anyone, no matter how young or small.

Explorer's Challenge:
What do you have to offer God? It might be a talent, some time, or a kind attitude. Think of one thing you can give or share this week, and watch how God might use it in a big way.
Moses Parts the Red Sea
Exodus 14:21-22

When the Israelites were trapped with the sea in front and enemies behind, Moses trusted God. God made a path through the sea! Sometimes our problems seem impossible, but God can make a way when there seems to be no way. Trust Him even when things look scary.

Explorer's Challenge:
Think of a problem in your life that feels impossible right now. Pray about it specifically; tell God exactly what you need. Then look for the way He opens up, even if it's not what you expected.
The Lost Sheep
Luke 15:4-7

Jesus told a story about a shepherd who left 99 sheep to find one that was lost. That's how much God loves each one of us! Even if we make mistakes or feel lost, God never stops looking for us. You are so special to God that He would search everywhere just for you.

Explorer's Challenge:
Do you ever feel like you've messed up too badly for God to love you? Remember this story. God's love doesn't give up. Thank Him today for loving you no matter what.
Esther's Courage
Esther 4:14

Queen Esther was brave and stood up for what was right, even when it was scary. God put her in the right place at the right time to save her people. You might be in your school, your neighborhood, or your family for a special reason. Be brave and do what's right!

Explorer's Challenge:
Is there a situation where you know the right thing to do but feel afraid to do it? Ask God for courage like Esther's. Then take one small brave step this week; stand up for a friend, tell the truth, or help someone who needs it.
The Armor of God
Ephesians 6:11

God gives us special armor to protect us from bad things. The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith. These aren't real armor, but they're even better! When we read the Bible, pray, and trust God, we're putting on God's armor every day.

Explorer's Challenge:
Pick one piece of the Armor of God to focus on this week. Maybe the shield of faith; every time you feel worried, remind yourself of a promise God made. Or the belt of truth; commit to being honest in everything you say.
Abraham and Sarah
Genesis 18:14

God made Abraham and Sarah an incredible promise; they would have a son, even though they were very, very old. Sarah actually laughed when she heard it, because it seemed impossible! But God asked a powerful question: "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" Sure enough, their son Isaac was born, just as God promised. God always keeps His word, even when we can't imagine how.

Explorer's Challenge:
Is there something you've been waiting and hoping for? Maybe it feels like it will never happen. Write down one promise from the Bible that gives you hope, and keep it somewhere you'll see it every day. Trust that God's timing is always perfect.
Joshua and Caleb
Numbers 13:30

When Moses sent twelve spies to scout the Promised Land, ten of them came back terrified. "The people there are giants; we can't do it!" they said. But Joshua and Caleb saw the exact same land and had a completely different report: "We can certainly do it, because God is with us!" They weren't braver than the others because they ignored the danger; they were braver because they trusted God more than they feared the giants.

Explorer's Challenge:
Have you ever felt like everyone around you was scared or giving up, but something inside you said to keep going? That could be God building faith in you! Think of one situation where you can choose to trust God instead of going along with fear. Take the courageous step this week.
Ruth's Loyalty
Ruth 1:16

Ruth's husband had died, and her mother-in-law Naomi told her to go back to her own family and start over. But Ruth refused to leave. She said, "Where you go, I will go. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God." Ruth chose loyalty and love even when it cost her everything. Because of her faithfulness, God blessed her with a new home, a husband named Boaz, and a place in the story of Jesus himself.

Explorer's Challenge:
Think of someone in your life who might feel lonely or left out (a friend, a family member, or even someone at school you don't know well). What's one way you can show up for them this week, the way Ruth showed up for Naomi?
King Josiah
2 Kings 22:2

Josiah became king when he was only eight years old. When workers were cleaning the temple, they found a scroll (the Book of God's Law) that had been lost and forgotten for years. When Josiah heard it read aloud, he tore his robes in sadness because he realized how far his kingdom had drifted from God. Instead of making excuses, he acted. He tore down the idols, renewed the covenant with God, and led his whole nation back to following Him. God said there was no king like Josiah, who turned to God with all his heart.

Explorer's Challenge:
Has reading the Bible ever surprised you or shown you something you needed to change? Josiah didn't ignore what he heard; he did something about it. Pick one thing from God's Word you've been putting off and take one step toward it today. You're never too young to lead.
Paul and Silas
Acts 16:25

Paul and Silas were thrown in jail for telling people about Jesus. Their feet were chained, their backs were sore, and it was the middle of the night. But instead of complaining, they did something amazing; they sang worship songs! Suddenly an earthquake shook the prison, the chains fell off, and the doors swung open. The jailer was so stunned that he asked, "What must I do to be saved?" Because Paul and Silas chose to praise God in the hardest moment, a whole family came to know Jesus that night.

Explorer's Challenge:
Next time something goes wrong (a bad day, an unfair situation, or something that just hurts), try praising God anyway. Put on a worship song, say a prayer of thanks, or write down something good God has done. See how choosing praise changes your perspective, and maybe even the people around you.
Jeremiah
Jeremiah 1:5

When God called Jeremiah to be a prophet, Jeremiah's first response was, "I don't know how to speak; I'm too young!" But God wasn't looking for someone with the perfect skills. He told Jeremiah something incredible: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." God had a purpose for Jeremiah before he even took his first breath. Jeremiah faced a lot of hard days; people ignored him, laughed at him, and even threw him in a pit. But he kept going because he knew God had called him.

Explorer's Challenge:
Have you ever thought you were too young, too shy, or not good enough to do something for God? Jeremiah felt the same way. Ask God to show you one thing He made you for (a gift, a passion, or a way you can help others) and take one small step toward it this week.
Samuel Listens to God
1 Samuel 3:10

Samuel was just a young boy sleeping in the temple when he heard someone call his name. He ran to Eli the priest and said, "Here I am!" But Eli hadn't called him. This happened three times before Eli realized. It was God calling Samuel! Eli told him, "Go back to bed, and if He calls again, say: Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening." God didn't call a king or a grown-up that night. He called a child who was willing to listen. And Samuel went on to become one of the greatest prophets in the Bible.

Explorer's Challenge:
God still speaks today, through the Bible, through prayer, through that quiet feeling in your heart. Try this: spend two minutes in silence after your prayer tonight and just listen. You might be surprised what God puts on your heart when you stop and pay attention.
Joseph and the Plan God Had
Genesis 50:20

Joseph's brothers were so jealous of him that they sold him as a slave and told their father he was dead. Then, just when things seemed to get better, he was thrown in prison for something he didn't even do. But through every unfair, painful moment, the Bible says "God was with Joseph." Year after year, God was quietly working. Eventually Joseph became the second most powerful person in all of Egypt, and when his brothers came to him desperate for food, instead of getting revenge, Joseph forgave them. "You intended to harm me," he told them, "but God intended it for good."

Explorer's Challenge:
Has something unfair happened to you that still hurts? Joseph's story shows that God can take even the worst situations and use them for something good, but it takes time and trust. Is there someone you need to forgive this week? Ask God to help you see your situation the way Joseph eventually did.
Jonah and the Whale
Jonah 2:1

God asked Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh and tell the people to turn back to God. But Jonah didn't want to go, so he ran the other way and got on a boat! A huge storm came, and Jonah ended up in the belly of a giant fish for three days. In the dark and the deep, Jonah finally prayed and said sorry to God. The fish spit him out on dry land, and this time Jonah went to Nineveh. It's never too late to turn around and follow God.

Explorer's Challenge:
Is there something God has been nudging you to do that you've been avoiding? Maybe it's saying sorry to someone, being kind to a person you don't like, or being brave about your faith. Don't wait for a storm. Take a step toward it today!
The Fiery Furnace
Daniel 3:17-18

King Nebuchadnezzar built a giant golden statue and ordered everyone to bow down and worship it. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused. The king was furious and threatened to throw them into a blazing furnace. Their answer was one of the boldest in the whole Bible: "Our God can save us, but even if He doesn't, we still won't bow." They were thrown into the fire, but when the king looked in, he saw four people walking around, not three. God was with them in the flames, and they came out without even the smell of smoke.

Explorer's Challenge:
Have you ever felt pressure to go along with something you knew was wrong? Standing up takes real courage, especially when everyone else is doing it. Think of one situation where you can choose to stand firm this week, even if it's hard. God will be with you in the fire.
Gideon's Small Army
Judges 7:7

Gideon started with 32,000 soldiers to fight a massive enemy army. But God said it was too many; He kept sending soldiers home until only 300 were left! Why? Because God wanted everyone to know that the victory came from Him, not from the size of the army. With just torches, jars, and trumpets, Gideon's tiny team confused and defeated the whole enemy camp. God doesn't always need the biggest, strongest, or most experienced person. He needs someone who trusts Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
Do you ever feel like you're not enough, not strong enough, not talented enough, not old enough? Gideon felt the same way. Ask God to show you how He wants to use you exactly as you are. Small and faithful is more powerful than big and proud.
Elijah and the Still Small Voice
1 Kings 19:12

After a great miracle, Elijah was exhausted and so discouraged he wanted to give up. He ran into the wilderness and hid in a cave. God sent wind so strong it broke rocks apart, then an earthquake, then fire, but God wasn't in any of those. Then came a still, small voice. That's where God was. Sometimes we expect God to show up in the big dramatic moments, but often He speaks in the quiet, in a moment of calm, a gentle thought, or a whisper in your heart when the noise dies down.

Explorer's Challenge:
Our lives are full of noise: screens, music, talking, notifications. This week, try spending five minutes each day in complete quiet. No phone, no music, no distractions. Just sit still and see if God speaks to you in the calm.
Nehemiah Rebuilds the Wall
Nehemiah 6:9

The walls of Jerusalem were broken down and the city was in ruins. Nehemiah felt a deep burden to rebuild them, so he prayed, made a plan, and got to work. People mocked him, threatened him, and tried to trick him into stopping, but Nehemiah kept building. When enemies tried to scare him, he prayed and kept going. The whole wall was rebuilt in just 52 days. When people saw what had been accomplished, they knew that God had made it possible. Hard things for God are worth doing, even when others say it can't be done.

Explorer's Challenge:
Is there something good you've started (or something you feel called to do) but you've let discouragement or other people's opinions slow you down? Ask God to give you Nehemiah's focus. Pray about it, make a plan, and take one step forward today.
Baby Moses in the Basket
Exodus 2:4

When baby Moses was born, his family had to keep him hidden to keep him safe. His mother made a little basket, placed him inside, and set it floating on the river. His sister Miriam watched from the reeds to see what would happen. God had a plan: the princess of Egypt found the basket, felt compassion for the crying baby, and took him in. God protected Moses from the very beginning, and used a brave mother and a watchful sister to do it. God watches over us just as carefully.

Explorer's Challenge:
Miriam was young, but she was brave and paid attention. Is there someone in your family or class who needs someone to look out for them? Ask God to help you be a watchful, caring friend this week, just like Miriam was for her baby brother.
Jacob and Esau
Genesis 33:4

Jacob and Esau were twin brothers who had a huge falling out. Jacob tricked his brother and stole what belonged to him, and Esau was so angry he wanted to hurt Jacob. They went years without seeing each other. But when they finally met again, something amazing happened. Before Jacob could even say sorry, Esau ran to him, threw his arms around him, and wept. He had already chosen to forgive. Forgiveness doesn't always wait for an apology. Sometimes choosing to let go is the bravest thing we can do.

Explorer's Challenge:
Is there someone who hurt you that you haven't forgiven yet? Forgiveness doesn't mean what they did was okay; it means you're choosing to let God handle it instead of carrying the hurt yourself. Ask God to help you take one step toward forgiving that person this week.
Zacchaeus
Luke 19:5

Zacchaeus was a tax collector who cheated people out of their money, and everyone in town hated him for it. He was also too short to see over the crowd when Jesus came through, so he climbed a tree just to get a glimpse. Then Jesus stopped, looked right up at him, and said, "Zacchaeus, come down, I'm coming to your house today." Nobody expected Jesus to choose someone like Zacchaeus. But that's exactly what Jesus does. He looks past what everyone else sees and finds the person others have written off. No one is too far gone for Jesus to notice.

Explorer's Challenge:
Is there someone at school or in your neighborhood that other kids leave out or avoid? Jesus went out of His way for Zacchaeus. This week, try going out of your way for someone who feels invisible. A smile, an invitation, or just sitting with them could change their whole day.
Peter Walks on Water
Matthew 14:29-30

The disciples were in a boat in the middle of a storm when they saw Jesus walking toward them on the water. Peter called out, "Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come!" Jesus said, "Come." And Peter actually stepped out of the boat and walked on water, until he looked at the waves. The moment he took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the storm, he started to sink. Jesus reached out and caught him. Peter gets a lot of criticism for sinking, but he's the only one who got out of the boat.

Explorer's Challenge:
What "storm" in your life is pulling your attention away from Jesus right now? A worry, a fear, a hard situation at school or home? Practice redirecting your focus, when the worry comes, say a quick prayer and bring your eyes back to Jesus. That's what walking on water looks like today.
The Prodigal Son
Luke 15:20

A young man demanded his inheritance early, left home, and wasted every bit of it on a wild life. He ended up so hungry he was eating food meant for pigs. Finally, he came to his senses and decided to go home, not expecting to be welcomed back as a son, but maybe just as a servant. But his father had been watching and waiting. The moment he saw his son coming down the road, he ran to him, threw his arms around him, and threw a party. That's how God feels about us. No matter how far we've wandered, He's watching and ready to run.

Explorer's Challenge:
Have you ever felt like you've messed up too much for God to still love you? Read Luke 15:20 slowly. The father ran; he didn't wait for an explanation. Talk to God today just like the son came home: honestly, humbly, and knowing He's already running toward you.
Jesus Calms the Storm
Mark 4:39

The disciples were crossing a lake when a furious storm hit. Waves crashed into the boat, water poured in, and the disciples were terrified. Meanwhile, Jesus was asleep in the back of the boat. They woke Him up crying, "Don't you care that we're going to drown?!" Jesus stood up, looked at the storm, and said, "Quiet! Be still!" The wind stopped. The waves went flat. Then He turned to them and asked, "Why were you afraid? Do you still have no faith?" Jesus wasn't panicked because He knew He had authority over the storm, and He has authority over yours too.

Explorer's Challenge:
Think of something that's been making you feel really scared or worried lately. Write it down, then write next to it: "Jesus has authority over this." Pray and ask Him to speak "peace, be still" over that situation, and then choose to trust He's in the boat with you.
Blind Bartimaeus
Mark 10:52

Bartimaeus was a blind beggar sitting by the road when he heard that Jesus was passing by. He started shouting, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" The crowd told him to be quiet. He shouted even louder. Jesus stopped and called him over. "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked. "I want to see," Bartimaeus said. And immediately he could. Bartimaeus refused to let the crowd silence him, and Jesus didn't ignore him. When we cry out to God persistently and honestly, He always hears.

Explorer's Challenge:
Is there something you've been praying about for a long time without seeing an answer yet? Don't give up. Bartimaeus kept crying out even when people told him to stop. Write down your prayer, date it, and keep praying. Then watch for the day Jesus calls you forward.
The Parable of the Talents
Matthew 25:21

In this story, a master gave money to three servants before going on a trip. Two of them invested it and doubled what they were given. The third got scared and buried his in the ground. When the master returned, he praised the ones who used what they had, and told the one who buried his that he should have at least tried. Jesus is telling us something important: the gifts, abilities, and opportunities God gives us aren't meant to be hidden or saved for someday. They're meant to be used now, even if we're not sure how they'll turn out.

Explorer's Challenge:
What gifts or abilities has God given you: music, sports, kindness, creativity, making people laugh? Write down two or three things you're good at. Then think of one way you can use one of those gifts this week to help someone else or honor God. Don't bury it!
Mary and Martha
Luke 10:42

When Jesus came to visit, Martha rushed around the kitchen trying to prepare everything perfectly. Her sister Mary sat at Jesus' feet and just listened to Him. Martha got frustrated and asked Jesus to tell Mary to help her. But Jesus said, "Martha, you're worried about so many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better." It's easy to get so busy doing good things that we forget to just be with Jesus. Sitting at His feet, reading His Word, and listening matters more than any busy checklist.

Explorer's Challenge:
How busy is your life right now? Make a list of everything filling your time this week: school, activities, screens, homework. Now ask: where is time with God on that list? Pick one thing to do less of this week to make space to just sit and be with Him.
Timothy
1 Timothy 4:12

Timothy was a young man who worked alongside the apostle Paul, helping lead churches and teaching people about Jesus. Some people doubted him because of his age. But Paul wrote him a letter with powerful advice: "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity." Timothy proved that age has nothing to do with faithfulness. God doesn't put your faith on hold until you're older. He wants to use you right now.

Explorer's Challenge:
Paul told Timothy to set an example in five areas: speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Pick one of those five and focus on it this week. How can you set an example for the people around you (your family, friends, or classmates) in that one area starting today?
Lazarus
John 11:25

Lazarus, one of Jesus' closest friends, became very sick and died. His sisters Mary and Martha were heartbroken, and when Jesus finally arrived, they said, "If you had been here, he wouldn't have died." Jesus wept with them. Then He walked to the tomb, told them to roll away the stone, and called out in a loud voice: "Lazarus, come out!" And Lazarus walked out, still wrapped in burial cloth. Jesus said something before the miracle that matters even more: "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though they die." His power has no limit, not even death.

Explorer's Challenge:
Have you ever faced something that felt completely hopeless, like the stone had already been rolled in front of the door? Jesus walked right up to that tomb. Talk to Him about the thing that feels most impossible in your life right now, and remember: He's the God who calls people out of tombs.
The Nativity
Luke 2:11

One special night in Bethlehem, baby Jesus was born. There was no room at the inn, so His first bed was a manger, the box where animals eat. Then the sky lit up with angels, and they told some shepherds the good news: "Today a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord." The shepherds hurried to see Him and became the very first people to celebrate. God did not send His Son to a fancy palace. Jesus came small and humble, close to everyone, so that no one would ever feel too ordinary to come to Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
This week, make room for Jesus the way Bethlehem could not. Pick one quiet moment each day (maybe right before bed) to thank Him for coming. You can even share the good news the shepherds heard: a Savior has been born!
The Resurrection
Matthew 28:6

After Jesus died on the cross, His friends were heartbroken and thought the story was over. But on Sunday morning, some women went to the tomb and found the giant stone rolled away and the tomb empty! An angel told them, "He is not here; he has risen, just as he said." Jesus was alive again. He had beaten death itself. Because Jesus rose, we know His promises are true and that nothing, not even death, is too big for God. It is the happiest news in the whole world.

Explorer's Challenge:
Easter is not just one Sunday. This week, tell someone the good news: "Jesus is alive!" Then thank God for the fresh start Jesus gives, and pick one way you can live like someone who follows a living, powerful Savior.
Mary Says Yes to God
Luke 1:38

Mary was a young girl, probably not much older than you, when the angel Gabriel surprised her with enormous news: she would become the mother of Jesus, the Son of God. Mary did not understand how it could happen, and saying yes would not be easy. People might not believe her, and her whole life would change. But she trusted God and answered, "I am the Lord's servant. May your word to me be fulfilled." Her brave yes helped bring the Savior into the world. God often invites ordinary, young people to be part of His biggest plans.

Explorer's Challenge:
Is God nudging you toward something brave, like telling the truth, forgiving someone, or trying something new for Him? Mary felt unsure too, but she still said yes. Pick one thing this week where you can trust God and say, "Yes, Lord," even when it feels a little scary.
God Makes the World
Genesis 1:1

In the very beginning there was nothing at all, and then God spoke. He made light and dark, sky and sea, plants, animals, the sun, moon, and stars. Everything God made was good, and best of all He made people to know and love Him. When you look at a sunset or a tiny bug, you are seeing something God carefully made.

Explorer's Challenge:
Go outside and find three things God made that you think are beautiful. Say a quick thank you to God for each one.
Adam and Eve in the Garden
Genesis 2:15

God made a beautiful garden called Eden and placed the first people, Adam and Eve, in it. He gave them everything they needed and only one rule, to not eat from one special tree. But they chose to disobey, and then they tried to hide from God. Their choice brought sadness into the world, yet God still loved them and promised to rescue people one day.

Explorer's Challenge:
When you break a rule it is tempting to hide it. This week, if you mess up, practice telling the truth instead of hiding. Honesty helps your friendships and helps your heart.
The Tower of Babel
Genesis 11:4

Long ago everyone spoke the same language. Some people decided to build a giant tower to reach the sky and make themselves famous, instead of honoring God. God saw their proud plan, so He gave them different languages. Suddenly they could not understand each other, so they stopped building and spread across the earth. God wants us to be humble and to give Him the glory, not to show off.

Explorer's Challenge:
It feels good to be praised, but showing off can push God and others away. This week, when you do something well, thank God quietly instead of bragging.
Abraham Welcomes Three Visitors
Genesis 18:1

One hot day Abraham saw three visitors near his tent. He hurried to welcome them, gave them water and rest, and prepared a big meal. The visitors carried a message from God, that Abraham and Sarah would finally have a son, even though they were very old. Abraham's kindness to strangers turned into a moment of great blessing.

Explorer's Challenge:
Being welcoming is a gift you can give anyone. This week, look for someone who is new or left out, and make them feel welcome with a smile or a kind invitation.
A Bride for Isaac
Genesis 24:19

Abraham's servant traveled far to find a wife for Isaac, and he prayed for God to guide him. He asked God for a sign, that the right girl would offer water to him and his camels. Rebekah came to the well and kindly gave water to the tired servant and all ten thirsty camels. Her willingness to serve showed her caring heart, and she became Isaac's wife.

Explorer's Challenge:
Rebekah helped even when it was a lot of work. This week, offer to help with a chore or a task without being asked, just to be kind.
Jacob's Dream at Bethel
Genesis 28:12

Jacob was traveling alone and afraid, so he lay down with a stone for a pillow. That night he dreamed of a stairway reaching to heaven, with angels going up and down. God stood at the top and promised to be with Jacob wherever he went. Jacob woke up amazed, knowing that God was near even in a lonely place.

Explorer's Challenge:
God is with you even when you feel alone. Tonight before bed, tell God one worry, and remember His promise to be with you wherever you go.
Jacob Wrestles with God
Genesis 32:28

Jacob was about to meet his brother Esau, whom he had wronged years before, and he was scared. The night before, a mysterious man wrestled with Jacob until dawn. Jacob held on and said he would not let go until he received a blessing. God blessed him and gave him a new name, Israel, which means he struggled with God and kept going. Sometimes holding on to God through a hard time changes us for the better.

Explorer's Challenge:
When something is hard, do not give up on God. This week, when you face a struggle, keep praying and holding on, trusting God to help you through it.
Joseph Forgives His Brothers
Genesis 50:20

Joseph's brothers had been cruel and sold him away, but years later Joseph became a powerful leader in Egypt. When a famine came, his brothers arrived needing food, not knowing it was him. Joseph could have punished them, but instead he cried and forgave them. He said what they meant for harm, God used for good. Forgiveness set Joseph's heart free and saved his whole family.

Explorer's Challenge:
Holding a grudge is heavy. Think of one person who hurt you, and ask God to help you begin to forgive them, even if it takes time.
Moses and the Burning Bush
Exodus 3:4

Moses was watching sheep when he saw a bush that was on fire but did not burn up. God spoke to him from the bush and told him to rescue His people from slavery in Egypt. Moses felt scared and unsure, saying he was not a good speaker. But God promised, I will be with you, and that was enough. God often calls ordinary people to do brave things with His help.

Explorer's Challenge:
You do not have to feel brave to be brave. This week, do one thing that scares you a little but is good, and remember God says, I will be with you.
The First Passover
Exodus 12:13

God was about to free His people from slavery in Egypt. He told each family to put lamb's blood on their doorframes as a sign of trust. That night God's judgment passed over every home marked with the blood, keeping the families safe. The people ate a special meal, ready to leave quickly. They learned that trusting and obeying God brings rescue.

Explorer's Challenge:
Trusting God sometimes means doing what He says even before we understand why. This week, practice obeying right away when a parent or teacher asks something good of you.
Manna from Heaven
Exodus 16:4

After leaving Egypt, God's people were hungry in the desert and started to complain. Every morning God sent thin flakes of bread called manna, right on the ground. There was always enough for each day, and the people gathered what they needed. God taught them to trust Him for their daily needs, one day at a time.

Explorer's Challenge:
God cares about your everyday needs. Before a meal this week, stop and thank God for giving you food today.
Water from the Rock
Exodus 17:6

The people were thirsty in the desert and grumbled at Moses. God told Moses to strike a certain rock with his staff. When Moses obeyed, fresh water gushed out for everyone to drink. Even in a dry, hard place, God provided exactly what His people needed.

Explorer's Challenge:
When you feel like grumbling, try thanking God instead. This week, when something is hard, name one way God has already provided for you.
The Ten Commandments
Exodus 20:1

God called Moses up a mountain and gave him ten important rules to help His people live well. The commandments teach us to love God first and to love others by being honest, respectful, and kind. They are not meant to spoil our fun; they are like a loving guardrail that keeps us safe. When we follow God's ways, life goes better for everyone.

Explorer's Challenge:
Pick one commandment to focus on this week, like honoring your parents or telling the truth. Notice how following it helps you and the people around you.
Balaam's Talking Donkey
Numbers 22:28

Balaam was riding his donkey to do something God had warned him against. Three times the donkey stopped, because it saw an angel of the Lord blocking the path that Balaam could not see. Balaam got angry, and then God let the donkey speak to him. Balaam finally saw the angel and understood that God was protecting him. God can use even a donkey to help us listen and do the right thing.

Explorer's Challenge:
Sometimes God warns us through other people when we are about to make a wrong choice. This week, practice really listening when a parent or friend gently corrects you.
Rahab Helps the Spies
Joshua 2:9

Rahab lived in the city of Jericho when two spies from God's people came to explore it. Even though it was risky, Rahab hid the spies and helped them escape, because she believed their God was the true God. She asked them to protect her family, and they promised to keep her safe. When the city later fell, Rahab and her family were rescued because of her brave faith.

Explorer's Challenge:
Doing the right thing can take courage, especially when it is risky. This week, stand up for someone or something good, even if it is not the easy choice.
The Walls of Jericho
Joshua 6:20

God gave Joshua an unusual battle plan for the strong city of Jericho, to march around it once a day for six days, then seven times on the seventh day, and shout. It did not look like a normal way to win, but the people obeyed. On the seventh day they marched and shouted, and the great walls fell down flat. God showed that trusting His way, even when it seems strange, leads to victory.

Explorer's Challenge:
God's ways are not always what we expect. This week, when God's way, like forgiving or being patient, seems strange, choose to trust and obey anyway.
Deborah the Brave Leader
Judges 4:14

Deborah was a wise leader and judge who helped God's people when they were in trouble. An enemy army with iron chariots had frightened everyone. Deborah trusted God and encouraged a commander named Barak to go into battle, promising that God would give the victory. She was brave and steady, and God's people won because they followed His plan.

Explorer's Challenge:
God gives courage to leaders of every age. This week, be a brave helper: encourage a friend who is scared, or lead the way in doing what is right.
Samson's Strength from God
Judges 16:28

Samson was given amazing strength by God to help rescue his people. He made some poor choices and lost his strength for a while, but he turned back to God and prayed for help one more time. God answered, and Samson used his strength to protect God's people from their enemies. His story reminds us that our gifts come from God and are meant to serve Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
Everything you are good at is a gift from God. This week, use one of your talents to help someone instead of only for yourself.
Hannah's Prayer
1 Samuel 1:27

Hannah wanted a child for many years and was very sad. Instead of giving up, she poured out her heart to God in prayer and promised to give her child back to serve Him. God heard Hannah and gave her a son named Samuel. Hannah kept her promise and thanked God, and Samuel grew up to be a great prophet.

Explorer's Challenge:
God hears every prayer, even the ones we cry. This week, bring one thing you really want to God in prayer, and trust Him with the answer.
David and Jonathan's Friendship
1 Samuel 18:3

David and Jonathan were best friends whose friendship was built on love and loyalty. Even though Jonathan was a prince and could have been jealous, he protected David and stood up for him. They promised to always be kind to each other and to each other's families. True friends celebrate one another and stay loyal, even when it is hard.

Explorer's Challenge:
A good friend is loyal and unselfish. This week, cheer for a friend's success instead of being jealous, and stand up for them if someone is unkind.
David Spares King Saul
1 Samuel 24:12

King Saul was chasing David to harm him, even though David had done nothing wrong. One day David found Saul asleep and defenseless in a cave, and David's men said this was his chance. But David refused to hurt Saul, because he wanted to honor God and do what was right. David chose mercy over revenge, trusting God to take care of the future.

Explorer's Challenge:
When someone treats you unfairly, revenge feels tempting. This week, choose mercy instead: refuse to get even, and let God handle it.
Solomon's Wise Choice
1 Kings 3:9

When young Solomon became king, God offered to give him anything he asked for. Solomon did not ask for money or a long life; he asked for wisdom to lead God's people well. God was pleased and made Solomon the wisest king ever, and He gave him riches too. Solomon learned that asking God for wisdom is one of the best prayers we can pray.

Explorer's Challenge:
Wisdom means making good choices. This week, before a tricky decision, pause and ask God to help you choose wisely.
Elijah and the Widow's Jar
1 Kings 17:14

During a long famine, God sent the prophet Elijah to a poor widow who had almost no food left. She had just enough flour and oil for one last small meal for her and her son. Elijah asked her to trust God and share first, and she did. Amazingly, her jar of flour and jug of oil did not run out until the famine ended. God provided for her because she gave in faith.

Explorer's Challenge:
Generosity means sharing even when you do not have much. This week, share something with someone, and trust God to take care of you.
Elijah on Mount Carmel
1 Kings 18:39

Many people had started worshiping a fake god named Baal, so Elijah set up a contest to show who the real God is. The prophets of Baal called on their god all day, but nothing happened. Then Elijah prayed to the one true God, and fire fell from heaven and burned up the offering, even though it was soaked with water. The people saw the truth and turned back to God.

Explorer's Challenge:
It takes courage to stand for God when others do not. This week, be willing to say you believe in God, even if you feel like the only one.
Elisha and the Widow's Oil
2 Kings 4:6

A widow was in deep trouble because she owed money and could not pay. She came to the prophet Elisha for help, and he asked what she had. She had only a small jar of oil, so Elisha told her to borrow many empty jars and start pouring. The oil kept flowing and filled every jar, and she sold it to pay what she owed. God used her small gift to meet a big need.

Explorer's Challenge:
God can do a lot with a little. This week, offer the little you have, your time, a snack, or a helping hand, and watch God use it.
Naaman is Healed
2 Kings 5:14

Naaman was an important army commander, but he had a skin disease called leprosy. The prophet Elisha told him to wash seven times in the Jordan River. At first Naaman was too proud and angry, because the plan seemed too simple. But when he humbled himself and obeyed, he came up completely healed. Naaman learned that obeying God, even in small humble ways, brings blessing.

Explorer's Challenge:
Pride can keep us from good things. This week, when someone gives you good advice, humbly try it instead of arguing.
The Brave Servant Girl
2 Kings 5:3

A young servant girl worked in Naaman's house, far from her own home. Even though she had every reason to stay quiet, she kindly told her mistress that God's prophet could heal Naaman. Her small, brave words led to a great miracle. God used a young girl that others might have overlooked to change a powerful man's life.

Explorer's Challenge:
You are never too young to make a difference. This week, share one kind or helpful word that could point someone toward hope.
Elisha and the Chariots of Fire
2 Kings 6:17

An enemy army surrounded the city where Elisha was staying, and his servant was terrified. Elisha stayed calm and prayed for God to open his servant's eyes. Suddenly the servant saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire, God's mighty army all around them. Elisha reminded him that those who are with us are more than those against us.

Explorer's Challenge:
When you feel outnumbered by problems, remember God is near. This week, when you feel afraid, pray and remember that God's help is bigger than what you can see.
Job Trusts God
Job 1:21

Job was a good man who lost almost everything in a short time, his animals, his home, and his health. Even though he was very sad and had many questions, Job did not turn away from God. He said the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away, and he still praised God's name. In the end God comforted Job and blessed him again. Job teaches us to hold on to God even when life is hard and we do not understand.

Explorer's Challenge:
Trusting God is easy when things are good and harder when they are not. This week, when something disappoints you, tell God how you feel and choose to trust Him anyway.
The Lord is My Shepherd
Psalm 23:1

King David wrote a beautiful song comparing God to a caring shepherd. A good shepherd leads his sheep to green grass and calm water, protects them, and finds them when they wander. David said the Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. This psalm reminds us that God watches over us gently, so we can feel safe with Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
You are one of God's sheep, and He cares for you. This week, when you feel worried, say slowly, the Lord is my shepherd, and let it calm your heart.
Isaiah Says Yes to God
Isaiah 6:8

Isaiah had a vision of God on a throne, high and holy, with angels praising Him. Isaiah felt small and unworthy, but God cleansed him and made him ready. Then God asked, whom shall I send, and Isaiah answered, here am I, send me. Isaiah became a prophet who bravely spoke God's messages. God still looks for willing hearts who will say yes to Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
God loves a willing heart. This week, when there is a good job to do that others avoid, be the one who says, here am I, I will help.
The Valley of Dry Bones
Ezekiel 37:5

God gave the prophet Ezekiel a strange vision of a valley full of dry bones. God asked if the bones could live, and then told Ezekiel to speak God's word over them. As Ezekiel obeyed, the bones came together, grew flesh, and God breathed life into them, until they became a great crowd of living people. This showed that God can bring hope and new life even when everything looks hopeless.

Explorer's Challenge:
Nothing is too dead or hopeless for God to make new. This week, pray for one situation that feels hopeless, and trust God to bring new life.
The Wise Men Follow the Star
Matthew 2:10

Far to the east, wise men studied the sky and saw a brand new star. They knew it meant a special king had been born, so they traveled a long way to find Him. The star led them to young Jesus, and they bowed down and gave Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. They worshiped Jesus because they knew He was worth the long journey.

Explorer's Challenge:
The wise men gave their best to Jesus. This week, give Jesus your best by doing one thing carefully and joyfully as a gift to Him.
Simeon and Anna Wait for Jesus
Luke 2:38

Simeon and Anna were two older people who loved God and waited many years to see the promised Savior. When Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple, Simeon held Him and praised God, and Anna thanked God and told everyone the good news. Their long, patient waiting was filled with joy at last. They show us that God keeps His promises, even when we wait a long time.

Explorer's Challenge:
Waiting is hard, but God is worth the wait. This week, when you have to wait for something, try thanking God instead of complaining.
The Boy Jesus at the Temple
Luke 2:49

When Jesus was twelve, His family visited Jerusalem for a special feast. On the way home, Mary and Joseph realized Jesus was missing and hurried back. They found Him in the temple, listening to the teachers and asking wise questions. Jesus said He needed to be in His Father's house, showing that even as a boy He loved God deeply.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus loved learning about God even as a kid. This week, ask one good question about God to a parent, teacher, or church leader.
Jesus is Baptized
Matthew 3:16

Jesus went to the Jordan River, where John was baptizing people. Even though Jesus had never done anything wrong, He chose to be baptized to obey God and set an example for us. As Jesus came up from the water, the Holy Spirit came down like a dove, and God's voice said, this is my Son, whom I love. It was a beautiful moment showing that Jesus is God's beloved Son.

Explorer's Challenge:
God calls you loved too. This week, remember that you are God's dear child, and treat others like they are loved by God as well.
Jesus is Tempted
Matthew 4:4

After going without food for forty days in the wilderness, Jesus was hungry and tired when the devil came to tempt Him. Three times the devil tried to trick Jesus into doing wrong, and three times Jesus answered with God's Word from Scripture. Jesus did not give in, and the devil finally left. Jesus showed us that knowing and trusting God's Word helps us stand strong against temptation.

Explorer's Challenge:
When you are tempted to do wrong, remember God's Word. This week, learn one short Bible verse to help you make good choices.
Water into Wine at Cana
John 2:9

Jesus and His mother were guests at a wedding in Cana when the hosts ran out of wine, which would have been embarrassing. Mary told the servants to do whatever Jesus said. Jesus had them fill six large jars with water, and when it was poured out, it had become the very best wine. This was Jesus' first miracle, and it showed His power and His care for people, even at a party.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus cares about the everyday moments of our lives. This week, invite Jesus into something ordinary, like a meal or a game, by thanking Him for it.
Jesus and Nicodemus
John 3:16

Nicodemus was a religious leader who came to Jesus at night with big questions. Jesus told him that to enter God's kingdom, a person must be born again, which means God gives us a brand new life on the inside. Then Jesus said the famous words, God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. Nicodemus learned that following God is not just about rules, but about a new life and God's great love.

Explorer's Challenge:
God offers everyone a fresh start. This week, thank God that His love is for the whole world, including you, and share that good news with someone.
The Woman at the Well
John 4:14

Tired from traveling, Jesus sat by a well and asked a Samaritan woman for a drink, even though many people ignored her. Jesus kindly talked with her and offered her living water that satisfies the heart forever. He knew all about her life and still treated her with love and respect. She was so amazed that she ran to tell her whole town about Jesus.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus is kind to everyone, including people others ignore. This week, be friendly to someone who often gets left out.
Four Friends and the Roof
Mark 2:5

A man who could not walk had four good friends who wanted Jesus to heal him. The house was so crowded they could not get in, so they climbed up and lowered their friend through the roof. Jesus saw their faith, forgave the man's sins, and told him to get up and walk, and he did. Their determined friendship helped their friend meet Jesus.

Explorer's Challenge:
Good friends help each other get closer to Jesus. This week, do something to help a friend, like praying for them or inviting them along.
The Ten Lepers Say Thank You
Luke 17:16

Ten men with a terrible skin disease called out to Jesus for help, and He healed all ten of them. But only one of them, a Samaritan, came back to say thank you and praise God. Jesus asked where the other nine were. This story reminds us to always remember to thank God for the good things He does for us.

Explorer's Challenge:
It is easy to forget to say thank you. This week, thank God every day for at least one good thing, and thank the people who help you too.
The Man Born Blind
John 9:25

Jesus met a man who had been blind his whole life. Jesus made a little mud, put it on the man's eyes, and told him to wash in a pool, and the man came back seeing for the first time. Some leaders argued about it, but the man simply said, one thing I know, I was blind but now I see. He believed in Jesus and worshiped Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus can open our eyes to see what is true. This week, thank Jesus for helping you see and understand His love.
The Parable of the Sower
Matthew 13:8

Jesus told a story about a farmer scattering seeds. Some seeds fell on the path, some on rocky ground, some among weeds, and some on good soil. Only the seeds in good soil grew strong and produced a big harvest. Jesus explained that the seed is God's Word, and we want hearts like good soil that listen, believe, and grow.

Explorer's Challenge:
You can prepare your heart to be good soil. This week, listen carefully when you hear about God, and let His Word take root by doing what it says.
The Mustard Seed
Matthew 13:31

Jesus said the kingdom of God is like a tiny mustard seed, one of the smallest seeds of all. When it is planted, it grows into a big plant where birds can come and rest. Jesus was teaching that small beginnings can grow into something great with God. Even a little bit of faith can grow strong over time.

Explorer's Challenge:
Little things can grow big with God. This week, take one small step of faith, like a short prayer or a kind act, and trust God to grow it.
The Two House Builders
Matthew 7:24

Jesus told about two builders. The wise man built his house on rock, and the foolish man built his house on sand. When the storms and floods came, the house on the rock stood firm, but the house on the sand fell with a great crash. Jesus said that hearing His words and obeying them is like building on the rock, a strong foundation that lasts.

Explorer's Challenge:
Obeying Jesus makes your life strong. This week, pick one thing Jesus teaches, like being kind or honest, and actually do it.
The Unforgiving Servant
Matthew 18:33

Jesus told about a servant who owed the king a huge amount he could never repay. The king kindly forgave the whole debt. But then that same servant refused to forgive a friend who owed him just a little, and even had him thrown in jail. When the king heard, he was upset that the forgiven servant would not forgive. Jesus taught that since God forgives us so much, we should forgive others too.

Explorer's Challenge:
God has forgiven you a lot, so you can forgive others. This week, let go of one small grudge and choose to forgive.
Jesus Blesses the Children
Mark 10:14

Parents were bringing their little children to Jesus, but the disciples tried to shoo them away, thinking Jesus was too busy. Jesus was not pleased with that. He said, let the little children come to me, and do not stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Then Jesus took the children in His arms and blessed them. Jesus loves children and always has time for them.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus is never too busy for you. This week, talk to Jesus like a friend, knowing He is glad to spend time with you.
The Rich Young Ruler
Mark 10:21

A rich young man asked Jesus how to have eternal life. He had kept the commandments since he was a boy, but Jesus saw that his money was most important to him. Jesus lovingly told him to sell what he had, give to the poor, and follow Him. The man walked away sad because he had great wealth. Jesus taught that nothing, not even riches, should come before God.

Explorer's Challenge:
Sometimes our stuff can take God's place in our hearts. This week, give away one thing you like to someone who needs it, to help keep God first.
The Widow's Small Coins
Mark 12:43

Jesus watched people putting money into the temple offering. Many rich people gave large amounts, but then a poor widow put in two tiny coins, worth almost nothing. Jesus said she gave more than everyone else, because she gave everything she had, while others gave only a little of their extra. God cares more about the love behind our giving than the size of the gift.

Explorer's Challenge:
God treasures a generous heart. This week, give something, your time, money, or help, cheerfully, knowing God sees your heart.
The Transfiguration
Matthew 17:2

Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a high mountain to pray. There Jesus changed before their eyes; His face shone like the sun and His clothes became bright white. Moses and Elijah appeared and talked with Him, and God's voice said, this is my Son, listen to Him. The disciples caught a glimpse of how glorious Jesus truly is.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus is more amazing than we can imagine. This week, take a quiet moment to tell Jesus He is wonderful, and really listen to Him.
The Triumphal Entry
Matthew 21:9

As Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a young donkey, crowds welcomed Him like a king. People spread their coats and palm branches on the road and shouted, Hosanna, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. It was a joyful parade celebrating Jesus. Even the children praised Him, and Jesus was glad to receive their worship.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus loves to be praised by kids like you. This week, sing or say a happy thank you to Jesus for being your King.
Jesus Washes the Disciples' Feet
John 13:14

On the night before He died, Jesus did something surprising. He wrapped a towel around His waist and washed His disciples' dusty feet, a job usually done by the lowest servant. Peter was shocked, but Jesus explained that He was showing them how to love and serve one another. Even though Jesus is Lord, He chose to serve, and He asked us to serve each other too.

Explorer's Challenge:
Serving others is a sign of real love. This week, do a humble helpful job for someone without being asked, like Jesus did.
Peter is Restored
John 21:17

Before Jesus died, Peter had denied three times that he even knew Him, and he felt terrible about it. After Jesus rose from the dead, He met Peter by the sea and made him breakfast. Three times Jesus gently asked, do you love me, and three times Peter said yes. Jesus forgave Peter and gave him an important job, to care for God's people. Jesus gives us fresh starts too.

Explorer's Challenge:
When you mess up, Jesus offers forgiveness and a fresh start. This week, if you feel bad about something, tell Jesus and accept His forgiveness.
The Road to Emmaus
Luke 24:31

Two sad followers of Jesus were walking to a village called Emmaus after Jesus had died. A stranger joined them and explained what the Scriptures said about the Savior, though they did not recognize Him. When they sat down to eat and He broke the bread, their eyes were opened; it was Jesus, alive again. They rushed back to tell the others the wonderful news.

Doubting Thomas Believes
John 20:29

After Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared to His disciples, but Thomas was not there. Thomas said he would not believe unless he saw Jesus himself. A week later Jesus came again and kindly invited Thomas to touch His hands. Thomas believed and said, my Lord and my God. Jesus said that people who believe without seeing are blessed, and that includes us today.

Explorer's Challenge:
We can believe in Jesus even though we cannot see Him. This week, when you have a doubt, bring it honestly to God and ask Him to help your faith.
The Great Commission
Matthew 28:19

Before Jesus went back to heaven, He gathered His disciples on a mountain. He told them to go into all the world, make disciples, and teach people to follow Him. Then He gave a wonderful promise, I am with you always, to the very end. This big mission still belongs to Jesus' followers today, and He is with us as we share His love.

Explorer's Challenge:
You can help share Jesus' love. This week, tell one person something good about Jesus, or invite a friend to church.

In the name of Jesus, Peter told the man to get up and walk, and instantly the man was healed. He jumped and leaped and praised God, and everyone was amazed.

Explorer's Challenge:

Philip and the Ethiopian
Acts 8:31

God sent Philip to a desert road where an important official from Ethiopia was riding in his chariot, reading the Scriptures. Philip asked if he understood what he was reading, and the man said he needed someone to explain it. Philip climbed up and told him the good news about Jesus. The man believed and was baptized right away, and went home full of joy.

Explorer's Challenge:
God can use you to help others understand His Word. This week, be ready to share or explain one thing you know about Jesus.
Saul Meets Jesus
Acts 9:5

Saul once worked hard to hurt the followers of Jesus. One day, as he traveled to Damascus, a bright light flashed and Jesus spoke to him from heaven, asking why Saul was hurting Him. Saul was blinded for a few days, then God healed him, and his whole life changed. He became Paul, one of the greatest missionaries ever. Jesus can change anyone's heart, no matter their past.

Explorer's Challenge:
No one is beyond God's reach. This week, pray for someone who does not know Jesus yet, trusting that God can change hearts.

She saw her chance to help God's people and stopped Sisera, ending the danger. Just as God had promised through Deborah, the victory came through an unexpected hero, a woman in a tent. God can use anyone, even someone others overlook, to do something brave for Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
God often uses ordinary, unexpected people to do brave things. This week, do not wait to be the biggest or strongest; look for one brave, right thing you can do to help others.
Enoch Walked with God
Genesis 5:24

Enoch was a man who loved God so much that the Bible says he walked with God every day. He stayed close to God his whole life, talking with Him like a good friend. One day God simply took Enoch to be with Him in heaven, without Enoch ever dying. Enoch reminds us that the best adventure of all is walking closely with God each day.

Explorer's Challenge:

Isaac Digs Wells of Peace
Genesis 26:22

Isaac's servants dug wells for water, but jealous neighbors kept fighting over them and taking them. Instead of fighting back, Isaac peacefully moved on and dug a new well, again and again. Finally he found a place with no arguing, and he named it Room Enough, because God had made room for them. Isaac showed that choosing peace is often stronger than fighting.

Explorer's Challenge:
When someone is unfair, fighting back is not the only choice. This week, try to be a peacemaker: walk away from an argument and choose kindness instead.
Joseph and Pharaoh's Dreams
Genesis 41:16

While Joseph was in prison for something he did not do, God gave him the ability to understand dreams. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, had two puzzling dreams that no one could explain. Joseph said he could not do it, but God would give the answer, and he explained that seven good years would be followed by seven hungry years. Pharaoh was so amazed that he put Joseph in charge of saving food, and Joseph helped save many lives.

Explorer's Challenge:
Joseph gave God the credit for his gift. This week, when you do something well, thank God for the abilities He gave you.
The Bronze Snake
Numbers 21:9

In the desert the people complained against God, and trouble came in the form of poisonous snakes. When the people were sorry, God told Moses to make a bronze snake and lift it high on a pole. Anyone who was bitten could look at the bronze snake and be healed. All they had to do was trust God and look. Years later Jesus said that He would be lifted up too, so that everyone who looks to Him in faith can be saved.

Explorer's Challenge:
Being healed only took a look of faith. This week, when you feel troubled, look to God in prayer and trust Him to help you.
The Day the Sun Stood Still
Joshua 10:13

Joshua and God's people were in a huge battle, and they needed more daylight to finish it. So Joshua boldly prayed and asked God to make the sun stand still in the sky. Explorer's Challenge:
Joshua prayed a big, bold prayer. This week, bring a big need to God, trusting that nothing is too hard for Him.
Gideon's Fleece
Judges 6:37

God asked Gideon to lead God's people, but Gideon felt unsure and wanted to be certain it was really God. So he laid a wool fleece on the ground and asked God for a sign, to let the fleece be wet with dew while the ground stayed dry. In the morning it was exactly so, and to be extra sure, Gideon asked for the opposite the next night, and God did that too. God was patient and kind with Gideon's questions, and Gideon went forward with courage.

Explorer's Challenge:
God is patient when we are unsure. This week, when you feel uncertain, ask God to help you trust Him, and then take a brave step.
God Looks at the Heart
1 Samuel 16:7

God sent Samuel to choose a new king from among Jesse's sons. Samuel looked at the oldest, tallest, strongest sons and thought they must be the ones. But God said that people look at the outside, while He looks at the heart. The one God chose was David, the youngest, a shepherd boy out in the fields. God cares more about what is inside us than how we look.

Explorer's Challenge:
God sees your heart, not just your outside. This week, work on something on the inside, like being kind or honest, more than how you look.
Abigail the Peacemaker
1 Samuel 25:32

Abigail's husband was rude and foolish, and he insulted David and his men, who had been kind to them. When David set out angry to punish them, wise Abigail quickly brought food and humbly asked David not to do something he would regret. Her calm, wise words stopped a fight before it started, and David thanked God for sending her. One peacemaker can change a whole situation.

Explorer's Challenge:
A few calm words can stop a big argument. This week, if two people are fighting, try being a gentle peacemaker instead of adding to it.
David's Kindness to Mephibosheth
2 Samuel 9:7

When David became king, he wanted to show kindness for the sake of his best friend Jonathan, who had died. He found Jonathan's son Mephibosheth, a young man who could not walk. Instead of ignoring him, David gave him back his family's land and invited him to eat at the king's table every day, like one of his own sons. David showed that God's kindness reaches out to those the world forgets.

Explorer's Challenge:
Kindness often means including someone who feels left out. This week, invite someone who is usually overlooked to join you.
Solomon Builds the Temple
1 Kings 8:27

King Solomon built a beautiful temple, a special house of worship for God, using gold, cedar wood, and careful work. When it was finished, Solomon prayed and wondered how God, who is bigger than the whole universe, could live in a house made by people. God's presence filled the temple like a cloud, showing He was pleased. God loves when we make a special place and time to worship Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
You can make a special spot to meet with God. This week, pick a quiet place and time to pray or read the Bible.
Elijah Goes to Heaven
2 Kings 2:11

The prophet Elijah had served God faithfully his whole life. When it was time for him to go, his helper Elisha stayed close by his side. Suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared, and Elijah was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elisha watched in wonder and then carried on Elijah's work. God honors those who follow Him faithfully to the very end.

Explorer's Challenge:
Elijah finished his life staying faithful to God. This week, practice finishing what you start, like a chore or a kind act, all the way to the end.
The Floating Axe Head
2 Kings 6:6

Some men were cutting wood by a river when one man's borrowed axe head flew off and sank into the water. He was very upset, because it was not even his. When Elisha heard, he threw a stick into the water, and amazingly the heavy iron axe head floated up to the top. God cared about one lost, borrowed tool, which shows He cares about the small worries in our lives too.

Explorer's Challenge:
God cares even about your small problems. This week, when something little goes wrong, tell God about it, because nothing is too small for Him.
The Kind Shunammite Woman
2 Kings 4:10

A kind woman in a town called Shunem noticed that the prophet Elisha often passed by. She and her husband built a small room on their roof, with a bed and a lamp, just so Elisha would have a place to rest. She did not ask for anything in return; she simply loved to help. Later God blessed her with a long awaited son, showing that God sees and rewards a generous heart.

Explorer's Challenge:
Hospitality means making room for others. This week, do something to make a guest or a tired person feel welcome and comfortable.
Hezekiah's Prayer
2 Kings 20:5

King Hezekiah became very sick, and a prophet told him he would not get better. Instead of giving up, Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed, reminding God how he had tried to follow Him. God heard Hezekiah's prayer and his tears, and added fifteen more years to his life. God listens when we pour out our hearts to Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
When things look hopeless, prayer still matters. This week, bring a worry to God honestly, trusting that He hears you.
Ezra Reads God's Word
Nehemiah 8:8

After God's people returned from far away, they had forgotten much of God's Word. Ezra the teacher stood on a high wooden platform and read the Book of the Law out loud from morning until noon. The people listened carefully, and helpers explained the meaning so everyone could understand. Hearing God's Word made the people weep, and then celebrate, because they were learning to love it again.

Explorer's Challenge:
God's Word is worth listening to carefully. This week, really pay attention when the Bible is read, and ask about anything you do not understand.
The Writing on the Wall
Daniel 5:25

King Belshazzar threw a proud party and made fun of God by drinking from cups taken from God's temple. Suddenly a mysterious hand appeared and wrote strange words on the wall, and the terrified king could not read them. Only Daniel, who trusted God, could explain that the proud king's time was up. It is a serious reminder to honor God and never treat holy things as a joke.

Explorer's Challenge:
Honoring God means treating Him with respect. This week, be careful to speak about God and holy things with reverence, not as a joke.
Daniel Explains the King's Dream
Daniel 2:28

King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that troubled him so much he could not sleep, but he would not tell anyone what it was. He demanded that his wise men tell him both the dream and its meaning. Daniel prayed with his friends, and God revealed the secret to him. Daniel humbly told the king that no wise man could do this, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. God knows all things, even the secrets no one else can.

Explorer's Challenge:
When you face something impossible, pray first. This week, before a hard problem, ask God for help and wisdom.
Make a Joyful Noise
Psalm 100:1

Psalm 100 is a happy song that invites everyone to worship God with joy. It says to make a joyful noise to the Lord, to serve Him with gladness, and to come before Him singing. It reminds us that God made us, that we belong to Him like sheep of His pasture, and that He is good, with love that lasts forever. Worship is not boring; it is a joyful celebration of how great God is.

Explorer's Challenge:
Worship can be joyful and loud! This week, sing a praise song to God with a big smile, thanking Him for being so good.
Learn from the Ant
Proverbs 6:6

The book of Proverbs says to go to the ant and learn from her ways. Ants are tiny, but they work hard and plan ahead, gathering food in summer to be ready for winter. No one has to force them; they are diligent all on their own. God wants us to be like the busy ant, doing our work faithfully instead of being lazy.

Explorer's Challenge:
Being diligent means doing your work without being nagged. This week, finish a chore or homework on your own, right away, like a hard working ant.
Zechariah and Baby John
Luke 1:13

Zechariah and Elizabeth were an older couple who had prayed for a baby for many years. One day an angel told Zechariah that they would have a special son named John, who would help prepare the way for the Savior. Zechariah found it hard to believe, so he could not speak until the baby was born. When John was born, Zechariah wrote down the name John, his voice returned, and he praised God. God keeps His promises, even when we have waited a long time.

Explorer's Challenge:
God keeps His promises in His perfect time. This week, thank God for something you have been waiting for, and trust His timing.
John Prepares the Way
Matthew 3:3

John the Baptist lived simply in the wilderness, wearing camel hair clothes and eating locusts and wild honey. He bravely told everyone to turn back to God and get their hearts ready, because the Savior was coming. Crowds came to be baptized in the Jordan River as a sign of a fresh start. John was not afraid to point people to Jesus, saying that Jesus is greater than he was.

Explorer's Challenge:
John pointed people to Jesus. This week, be brave enough to say something good about Jesus to a friend or family member.
The Centurion's Faith
Matthew 8:10

A Roman centurion, a commander of soldiers, had a servant who was very sick. He came to Jesus but felt unworthy to have Jesus come to his house. He said that Jesus could just say the word, and he knew his servant would be healed, because he trusted Jesus completely. Jesus was amazed and said He had not found such great faith in all of Israel, and the servant was healed that very hour.

Explorer's Challenge:
Great faith trusts Jesus even from far away. This week, pray for someone who is sick, trusting that Jesus hears and cares.
Jairus's Daughter
Mark 5:41

Jairus was a synagogue leader whose little girl was very sick, so he begged Jesus to come. On the way, sad news came that the girl had died, but Jesus said not to be afraid and just believe. When Jesus reached the house, He took the girl's hand and gently told her to get up, and she came back to life. Jesus has power even over death, and He is kind to worried parents and children.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus says, do not be afraid, just believe. This week, when you feel scared, hold on to those words and trust Jesus.
The Woman Who Touched Jesus
Mark 5:34

A woman had been sick and bleeding for twelve long years, and no doctor could help her. She believed that if she could just touch the edge of Jesus' cloak, she would be healed. In a big crowd she reached out, touched His cloak, and was healed at once. Jesus felt healing power go out from Him, and He kindly told her that her faith had made her well, and to go in peace.

Explorer's Challenge:
Even a small reach of faith matters to Jesus. This week, reach out to Jesus in prayer about something you have struggled with for a long time.
The Coin in the Fish
Matthew 17:27

The tax collectors asked Peter if Jesus paid the temple tax. Jesus told Peter to go fishing, and said the first fish he caught would have a coin in its mouth, exactly enough to pay the tax for both of them. Peter went, caught the fish, and found the coin, just as Jesus said. Jesus provided in a surprising way, showing He can take care of our needs however He chooses.

Explorer's Challenge:
God can provide in surprising ways. This week, when you have a need, ask God and watch for the creative ways He helps.
The Lost Coin
Luke 15:9

Jesus told a story about a woman who had ten silver coins and lost one. She lit a lamp, swept the whole house, and searched carefully until she found it. When she found the coin, she was so happy that she called her friends to celebrate. Jesus said heaven celebrates like that over even one person who turns back to God, because every single one matters to Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
You matter so much to God that heaven celebrates over you. This week, thank God that He treasures you, and welcome someone who feels forgotten.
The Rich Fool
Luke 12:21

Jesus told about a rich farmer whose fields grew so much that he ran out of room to store it all. He decided to build bigger barns and tell himself to eat, drink, and take life easy for many years. But that very night his life ended, and all his stuff could not help him. Jesus warned that a wise person is rich toward God, not just rich in things.

Explorer's Challenge:
Things do not last, but God does. This week, spend some time or money on something that matters to God, like helping others, instead of just getting more stuff.
The Good Shepherd
John 10:11

Jesus called Himself the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep. A good shepherd knows each sheep by name, leads them to safe places, and protects them from danger. Unlike a hired worker who runs away when a wolf comes, the Good Shepherd stays and cares. Jesus loves each of us personally and gave His life to keep us safe.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus knows you by name and cares for you. This week, when you feel afraid or alone, remember you have a Good Shepherd watching over you.
The Vine and the Branches
John 15:5

Jesus said that He is the vine and we are the branches. A branch cannot make fruit on its own; it has to stay connected to the vine to receive life. In the same way, we cannot live a good, fruitful life apart from Jesus. When we stay close to Him, praying and obeying, His life flows into us and we grow good fruit like love and kindness.

Explorer's Challenge:
Staying connected to Jesus helps you grow. This week, stay close to Him by praying each day, and notice the good fruit that grows.
The Ten Lamps
Matthew 25:13

Jesus told about ten girls waiting for a wedding with their lamps. Five were wise and brought extra oil, but five were foolish and did not. When the groom came at midnight, the wise girls' lamps were ready, but the foolish ones had run out. Jesus taught us to be ready and keep our hearts prepared, because we do not know the day He will return.

Explorer's Challenge:
Being ready means staying close to God now, not later. This week, do one thing to keep your heart ready for God, like praying or forgiving someone.
The Sheep and the Goats
Matthew 25:40

Jesus said that one day He will separate people like a shepherd separates sheep from goats. He will welcome those who fed the hungry, gave water to the thirsty, and visited the lonely and sick. He will say that whatever they did for the least important person, they did for Him. Jesus teaches that loving others in small, caring ways is really loving Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
Caring for others is like caring for Jesus. This week, help someone who is hungry, lonely, or left out, as if you were helping Jesus Himself.
The Humble Prayer
Luke 18:14

Jesus told about two men who prayed at the temple. One was a proud religious leader who bragged about how good he was and looked down on others. The other was a tax collector who humbly bowed his head and simply asked God to have mercy on him, a sinner. Jesus said the humble man went home right with God, because God lifts up the humble and resists the proud.

Explorer's Challenge:
God loves a humble heart. This week, instead of bragging, quietly ask God for help and thank Him for His mercy.
The Persistent Widow
Luke 18:1

Jesus told about a widow who kept coming to an unfair judge, asking again and again for justice. Even though the judge did not care, he finally helped her because she would not give up. Jesus said that if even an unfair judge answers, how much more will our loving God answer those who keep praying. He taught us to always pray and not give up.

Explorer's Challenge:
God wants us to keep praying and not lose heart. This week, pick one thing to pray about every day, and do not give up.
The Thief on the Cross
Luke 23:43

When Jesus was on the cross, two criminals were beside Him. One made fun of Jesus, but the other admitted he had done wrong and asked Jesus to remember him. Jesus kindly promised him that today he would be with Him in paradise. Even at the very last moment, this man was forgiven and welcomed, showing it is never too late to turn to Jesus.

Explorer's Challenge:
It is never too late to turn to Jesus. This week, remember that Jesus forgives anyone who asks, and thank Him for His mercy.
Jesus Prays in the Garden
Matthew 26:39

The night before He died, Jesus went to a garden called Gethsemane to pray. He was deeply sad, knowing what was coming, and He asked God if there was another way. But then He prayed, not my will, but yours be done, trusting His Father completely. Jesus showed us that even when something is very hard, we can bring our feelings to God and choose to trust Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
When something is hard, you can tell God how you feel and still trust Him. This week, pray honestly about something difficult and add, your will be done.
The Last Supper
Luke 22:19

On His last night, Jesus shared a special meal with His disciples. He took bread and said it was like His body, and He took the cup and said it was like His blood, given for them. He told them to remember Him whenever they shared this meal. This is why Christians still take communion today, to remember Jesus' love and the gift He gave.

Explorer's Challenge:
Remembering Jesus keeps Him close in our hearts. This week, take a quiet moment to thank Jesus for giving Himself for you.
The Miraculous Catch of Fish
Luke 5:6

Peter and his friends had fished all night and caught nothing. Jesus told Peter to put the nets out one more time in the deep water. Even though it seemed pointless, Peter obeyed, and the nets filled with so many fish they almost broke. Peter was amazed, and Jesus told him he would become a fisher of people. Obeying Jesus, even when it seems unlikely, leads to amazing things.

Explorer's Challenge:
Obeying Jesus, even when it seems unlikely to work, is worth it. This week, do what is right even when it feels pointless, and trust the results to God.
Jesus Returns to Heaven
Acts 1:9

After Jesus rose from the dead, He spent time with His friends and then led them to a hillside. He promised that the Holy Spirit would help them and that they would tell the world about Him. Then Jesus was taken up into the sky as they watched, and a cloud hid Him from sight. Two angels promised that one day Jesus would return in the same way.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus is in heaven and promises to return. This week, live in a way that would make Jesus glad, remembering He is coming back.
Peter and Cornelius
Acts 10:34

Cornelius was a kind Roman soldier who loved God but was not Jewish. God gave Peter a vision to show him that the good news of Jesus is for everyone, not just one group of people. Peter went to Cornelius's house and told his whole family about Jesus, and they believed and were filled with the Holy Spirit. God showed that His love has no borders and welcomes people from every nation.

Explorer's Challenge:
God's love is for everyone, everywhere. This week, be friendly and welcoming to someone who is different from you.
Peter's Angel Escape
Acts 12:7

King Herod put Peter in prison, guarded by soldiers, and the church prayed hard for him. That night an angel appeared, woke Peter, and his chains fell off. The angel led him right past the guards and out the gate, which opened by itself. Peter went to the house where his friends were praying, and they could hardly believe their prayers had been answered.

Explorer's Challenge:
God hears our prayers, even for big, scary problems. This week, pray for someone in trouble, trusting God can do the impossible.
Paul the Missionary
Acts 13:2

After Jesus changed his life, Paul traveled to faraway cities to tell people about Jesus. He faced storms, danger, and even jail, but he never stopped sharing the good news. He started churches, wrote letters that are now in the Bible, and helped the message of Jesus spread across the world. Paul shows us that sharing God's love is worth any hardship.

Explorer's Challenge:
Sharing God's love is a great adventure. This week, tell one person something you love about Jesus, or invite them to church.
The Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22

When the Holy Spirit lives in us, He grows good things in our hearts, like fruit on a tree. The Bible lists the fruit of the Spirit as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. We cannot force this fruit to grow on our own; it grows as we stay close to God. Little by little, the Spirit makes us more like Jesus.

Explorer's Challenge:
Pick one fruit of the Spirit to focus on this week, like patience or kindness, and ask God to grow it in you.
Love Never Fails
1 Corinthians 13:4

The Bible has a famous chapter that describes what real love looks like. It says love is patient and kind, it does not brag or get jealous, and it is not easily angered. Love does not keep score of wrongs; it protects, trusts, hopes, and never gives up. This kind of love comes from God, and it is the greatest thing of all.

Explorer's Challenge:
Real love is patient and kind, not selfish. This week, pick one way to show patient, kind love to someone in your family.
Heroes of Faith
Hebrews 11:1

The Bible has a chapter that lists many heroes of faith, like Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Rahab. Each of them trusted God and obeyed, even when they could not see how things would turn out. Their faith was being sure of what they hoped for and certain of what they could not see. Their stories cheer us on to keep trusting God in our own lives.

Explorer's Challenge:
Faith means trusting God even when you cannot see the whole picture. This week, take one step of obedience, trusting God with the outcome.
Run the Race
Hebrews 12:1

The Bible compares living for God to running a race. It tells us to throw off anything that slows us down and to run with patience the race set before us. Most of all, it says to keep our eyes on Jesus, who ran His race all the way to the end. Like a runner who does not quit, we keep going with our eyes fixed on Him.

Explorer's Challenge:
Following God is a race worth finishing. This week, when something good gets hard, keep going and do not quit.
Taming the Tongue
James 3:5

The Bible says the tongue is small, but it can do big things, good or bad. Like a tiny spark that can start a huge fire, our words can hurt or heal. With the same mouth we can praise God and also say unkind things, and that should not be. God helps us use our words to build others up instead of tearing them down.

Explorer's Challenge:
Your words are powerful. This week, catch yourself before saying something unkind, and choose words that build others up.
A New Heaven and a New Earth
Revelation 21:4

The Bible ends with a beautiful promise. One day God will make a new heaven and a new earth, where He lives with His people forever. There will be no more crying, no more pain, and no more death, because God will wipe every tear away. It is the happiest ending of all, and it is really a wonderful beginning.

Explorer's Challenge:
God promises a perfect forever with Him. This week, when something makes you sad, remember God's promise to make everything new one day.
Jesus Knocks at the Door
Revelation 3:20

Jesus said, look, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in. It is a picture of Jesus gently waiting to be invited into our lives. He never forces the door open; He waits for us to welcome Him. When we open our hearts to Jesus, He comes in and stays close like a friend.

Explorer's Challenge:
Jesus is knocking, waiting to be your friend. This week, open your heart to Him with a simple prayer, inviting Him to be close to you.
The Queen of Sheba
1 Kings 10:9

The Queen of Sheba heard about King Solomon's great wisdom and traveled a very long way to test him with hard questions. Solomon answered every one, and she was amazed by his wisdom and all that God had given him. She praised God, who had made Solomon king. Her story reminds us that God's wisdom is worth traveling far to find.

Explorer's Challenge:
God's wisdom is a treasure worth seeking. This week, ask God for wisdom about a choice you need to make.

Keep exploring every day!

The more you read God's Word, the stronger your faith becomes. Make it a habit to read one trail guide each day, and watch how God helps you grow on your adventure!
